Article TSX Universal
Thermo Scientific ™ TSX Series ultra-low freezers are now available in a wide range of capacities designed to meet the highest standards in reliability, durability and temperature management. At the heart of the TSX series, V-drive technology has been designed that allows the freezer to adapt to user patterns, significantly reducing energy and air handling costs without jeopardizing performance. The TSX has the highest capacity in the market with a maximum capacity of 840 boxes. The relatively small footprint in area makes this a very efficient way of storage.
The new generation TSX Universal has expanded the temperature range by 10 degrees. This makes it possible to set the temperature from -40°C to -80°C. The new line also has a universal voltage from 100 to 230V.
What is V-drive technology?
Unlike standard, single-speed compressors that cycle on and off, our V-drive technology runs at variable speeds to adjust cooling performance to the conditions inside and outside of the freezer. It allows the freezer to adjust to factors such as start-up and door openings when a higher compressor speed is needed. When conditions are normal or stable, the drive runs at a lower speed while still protecting your samples.
TSX Universal has an improved V-Drive compressor technology. This means that the new generation has faster pull-down and recovery times after opening the door compared to the previous one. The new generation also offers better stability, uniformity and smaller peak variation. And all variants produce a noise level below 44 dB(A).
Adaptive control of the V-drive quickly and efficiently restores set point even during multiple door openings in a busy lab.
Variable Speed Compressors (V-Drive) change speed in response to activity instead of cycling on and off like standard, single-speed compressors.
Remote
Monitoring With DeviceLink ™ in the ULT freezer, you can monitor the system status and sample temperature in real-time. Alarms and messages in a critical state are sent directly to e-mail and smartphone. Unlike traditional connectivity methods, DeviceLink ™ works in the Cloud, which requires minimal IT support. It can be used alongside the building management system on a personal level from the lab manager or analyst. Various product groups such as flow cabinets and incubators can now be connected online on this platform.
